Fixed some plug in mirror that creates whistle per Ford, but that didn't solve my noise. Many have said Ford issued a TSB and possibily a quick fix for this issue as long as it hasn't gone too far. Good luck diagnosing your Edge. I tried to detect where sound was coming from - it was not front end issue (engine or transmission). At idle, you hear a rumbling noise. I also had a whistle.
